Chippewa Run Natural Area
The Chippewa Run Natural Area is owned and managed by the Leelanau Conservancy. This 110 acre preserve includes four separate ecosystems with a beaver pond and stream. There is a 1.5 mile trail network on rolling terrain; a historic apple orchard; wildflowers; majestic maple trees; and a history of Anishinaabek settlements along the creek. The preserve is part of the Sleeping Bear Birding trail. Hunting is by permission only from the Leelanau Conservancy.
