Leelanau State Park Hiking Trails

The park is home to approximately 8.5 miles of hiking trails that traverse rolling hills, mature woods and, even, a beautiful sugar sand beach at Cathead Bay, which is a great place to look for Petoskey stones and frolic in the waves. The Lake Michigan Trail (blue trail) is a circular trail that will take you to a Lake Michigan scenic overlook where numerous islands can be seen on a clear day. The Mud Lake Trail (orange trail) will lead you around the west side of Mud Lake and through the beautiful woods of Leelanau County. The trails can also be used for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
