Pure Michigan Byway

The Upper Herring Lake Preserve is 180 acres and includes a meadow, lake, pond, and marsh habitats. There is a 1.4 mile long trail that winds through five habitats: old field, planted pine, young northern forest, northern wet meadow and northern shrub swamp, before ending in a small upland section surrounded by marl pit ponds.
