Leelanau Conservancy

Clay Cliffs Natural Area is 104.5 acres and was created in partnership with Leland Township that protects 1,700 feet of shoreline on both Lake Michigan and Lake Leelanau. The sheer clay bluff hosts a rare and fragile ecosystem with hardwood forest, wildflowers, a meadow, and panoramic view from 200 feet above Lake Michigan from the overlook. There is a 1.5 mile trail system on flat and hilly terrain.
